University of Brighton offers sports scholarships for undergraduate students. Three kinds of scholarship are awarded: Elite athletes scholarship, Talented sports performers scholarship and Disabled athletes scholarship. The sports scholarships scheme is designed to help students develop their full sporting potential by giving them the necessary flexibility and support to train and compete at the highest level whilst achieving an academic qualification. Eligibility: -For Elite athletes scholarship: -Applicant should have reached junior or senior national level of competition or performance and have the potential and dedication to reach world-class performance level (or equivalent) in your sport

-For Talented sports performers scholarship:- Applicant should have represented your sport at national or regional level or be able to demonstrate that you have the potential to compete at these levels

-Access to University of Brighton sports coaches where available in your sport.
For Talented sports performers scholarship:
-Financial assistance up to a maximum of £500 per academic year.
-Access to University of Brighton sports squads and coaches where available in your sport
-A talented sports performers card allowing free use of the university sports facilities
-Access to sports science and sports medicine at reduced rates.
For Disabled athletes scholarship:
-Five bursaries for £1,000 each available to talented disabled athlets
-Free access to university sport facilities
-Free sports science support by BASES accredited staff
-Access to sports medicine support at reduced rates through Sportswise
-Sports/academic mentor
-Access to University of Brighton sports coaches where available in your sport.
Selection Criteria: Selection for the Talented Sports Performer Squad – Sports Scholarship – will be based on current and past performance, commitment and determination to succeed as well as maintenance of academic standards. Please ensure you highlight your ability to achieve this in the application form.

Notification: Notification of the Panels’ decision will be sent in writing before the end of August.
How to Apply: The completed application form should be returned to the Sports Scholarship Coordinator by post.
Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 30 June each year.
