Caspian Arts Foundation MA Fashion Scholarship at University of the Arts London in UK

The Caspian Arts Foundation is funding MA Fashion Scholarship at University of the Arts London in UK. Applicants of Middle East and North Africa are eligible for applying this MA scholarship. Undergraduate students must have accepted full time Master’s Degree courses at London College of Fashion 2013/2014 academic year. The funding covers tuition fees and maintenance support for MA course. Selection criteria are based on academic excellence and financial need. Completed application should be submitted before 5th July 2013.

Eligibility:- Considered as an international student for fee status purposes.

- A permanent resident or citizen from one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE, Yemen, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia.

- Accepted or currently applying for a place on one of the following full-time Masters Degree courses at London College of Fashion for the 2013/2014 academic year: MA Fashion Artefact, MA Fashion Footwear, MA Fashion Design Technology: Menswear/Womenswear, MA Fashion Entrepreneurship and MA Fashion and the Environment

- An undergraduate student expecting to graduate with a first or 2:1 in a bachelor’s degree (with Honors or equivalent) from a Higher Education institution by 28th July 2013.

OR – A graduate, having already gained a first or 2:1 in a bachelor’s degree from a Higher Education institution, or an HE accredited Further Education institution.

OR – (for applicants without a bachelor’s degree) Able to demonstrate substantial equivalent and applicable experience.

Scholarship Description: The Caspian Arts Foundation MA Fashion Scholarship is awarded to students ordinarily resident in countries situated in the Middle East and the North African Regions who display an exceptional talent, and whose development within the fashion industry would most benefit from postgraduate study at the University of the Arts London. The Caspian Arts Foundation is a non-profit organisation promoting unity between Middle Eastern and North African cultures through the arts. The Caspian Arts Foundation Scholarships aim to assist the most promising students to overcome financial disadvantage and to give them a platform to develop to their full potential. The unique contributions that these students will make to the worlds of Fashion, Art, Film and Photography will form a lasting legacy.

What does it cover? The Scholarship is worth £22,300 and course tuition fees will be paid directly from the award to the University’s tuition fees account. The remaining funds will be paid to the Scholarship holder as maintenance support for the duration of the course.


Selection Criteria: Applications will be assessed according to financial circumstances and academic merit. The Selection Panel will make their final selections by marking the quality of application and the preparedness for high quality study in the discipline area, and the articulation of how a Caspian Arts Foundation MA Fashion Scholarship will contribute to his or her long-term career aims.


Notification: All applicants will be informed of the final decisions in writing by the end of August 2013. A letter will be sent to the correspondence address on the application form. You must inform us in writing if your address changes, so that we can contact you at the correct address.


How to Apply: The mode of applying is by post. In addition to the application form you will need to send the following supplementary material:

-Digital portfolio – a CD containing one PDF or PowerPoint file with 10 pieces (images and/or videos) of recent work which shows the best of your talent. Please note: paper portfolios will not be accepted. You can submit the same pieces of work which were used for your course application. Please ensure the CD is clearly labelled with your name and contact details.

-Curriculum Vitae (CV).

-Photocopy of passport.


Scholarship Application Deadline: All applications must be received by 12 pm (midday), 5th July 2013. There is only one closing date for applications each year.
