Fulbright Visiting Grants for Uzbekistan Applicants in USA

The United States Embassy in Uzbekistan is inviting applications for Fulbright visiting foreign student program in USA. Students of Uzbekistan are eligible for this scholarship. Scholarship is awarded for pursuing two years master’s degree program in the humanities, hard sciences such as engineering, and social sciences as well as all academic disciplines. Student must hold bachelors degree and proficiency in English is required. The deadline for applications is June 20, 2013.


Study Subject(s): The Fulbright Foreign Student Program encourages applications in the humanities, hard sciences such as engineering, and social sciences as well as all academic disciplines that were eligible for the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship: Business Administration, Economics, Education, Environmental Management, International Affairs, Journalism and Mass Communications, Law, Library and Information Science, Public Administration, Public Health and Public Policy. The field of medicine is not eligible for a Fulbright award, however applicants might seek a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration.

Eligibility: •Applicants must be citizens or nationals of Uzbekistan or permanent residents qualified to hold a valid passport issued by the nominating country.

•Applicants must have completed their undergraduate education and hold a degree equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree by the start of the grant period.

•Applicants should have a sufficient level of English to enable them to successfully complete full-time graduate study in the U.S. with a recent paper-based TOEFL score of 550 or higher or an equivalent test [i.e., internet-based TOEFL (IBT)].

•Strong preference will be given to applicants who have not had extensive recent experience in the U.S.

•An applicant who is currently in the U.S. is ineligible for a grant.

•An applicant’s financial need or status will not be a factor in the selection process.

Selection Criteria: Participants will be recruited through a merit-based open competition and chosen based upon their leadership potential, academic excellence, maturity, ability to adjust successfully to life in the U.S., strong interest in engaging Americans, and potential to promote mutual understanding between the United States and Uzbekistan.
