Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for an award you will need to meet the following criteria:
-students must have a declared household residual income of £25,000 or less;
-students must be from the Greater Manchester area. This means that your permanent address (not a term time address)
must be in Greater Manchester and you will have been schooled in the Greater Manchester
-students must be planning to study towards a BA (Hons), BSc (Hons), BEng (Hons), LLB (Hons), MChem, MEnv or MPhys
course;
-students must be entering year one of study (level 4).
Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of UK can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description: We are participating in the Government’s National Scholarship Programme to help with the costs of going to University. Our Salford National Scholarship Programme is worth £5,000. We award a £2,000 discount against your fees and a £1,000 cash award in year one of your study. Students in receipt of the NSP in year one in 2013/14 will also be awarded a further £1,000 tuition fee discount in years two and three.

Selection Criteria: Meeting the criteria does not guarantee you an award. Priority will be given to applications from:
-Students who have been in the care system
-Students from neighbourhoods where participation in higher education is low.
Notification: Successful applicants will be contacted to inform them of their NSP award in September. The discount against your fees will be applied immediately and the £1,000 cash bursary (full-time students only) will be paid to you in 2 equal instalments, in November 2013 and February 2014.
