Royal Academy of Engineering/Petrofac, UK is offering Engineering Fellowships for the Enhanced Graduate Engineer. These fellowships are awarded to pursue master’s courses at University of Aberdeen, Cranfield University, Heriot-Watt University, Imperial College, University of Leeds, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Robert Gordon University, University of Sheffield and University of Strathclyde. In certain cases the company may offer post-graduation employment. Students will be awarded a fellowship of £9,000 and be entitled to call themselves a ‘Petrofac Royal Academy of Engineering Fellow’.
Study Subject(s): In 2013 fellowships are offered for study on the following full-time Masters’ courses at the universities: Oil & Gas Engineering, Safety & Reliability Engineering, Design of Rotating Machinery, Process Systems Engineering, Energy Systems & Thermal Processes ,Carbon Capture & Transport, Flow Assurance, Offshore and Ocean Technology with Pipeline Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Oilfield Corrosion in Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Process Safety & Loss Prevention and Marine Engineering.
Course Level: This scheme offers a combination of an appropriate full-time Masters’ level second degree education coupled with additional learning and development opportunities.

Eligibility: The scheme is focused on high calibre graduate engineers who are interested in pursuing a non-research career in the oil and gas industry and those who are still undecided. Suitable candidates will also:
-have a place to study on an appropriate course;
-be qualified to degree level in engineering or a related discipline;
-have membership at any grade of a UK professional engineering institution or the Institution of Engineers of Ireland;
-have at least six months industrial experience, which may be from a sandwich course placement or ‘year out’ before commencing university;
-have no other industrial or charitable funding secured to support their studies;
-qualify for the Home/EU student rate with respect to course fees.

Scholarship Description: The Enhanced Graduate Engineer is achieved through a combination of an appropriate full-time Masters’ level second degree education coupled with additional learning and development opportunities provided by Petrofac, including where possible a company sourced major project, a mentor and work placement. In certain cases the company may offer post-graduation employment. All Fellows will be expected to attend a Petrofac familiarisation visit. Entry to the scheme is through a two-stage competitive process involving an application form and personal interview for those shortlisted. Those fortunate to be selected will be awarded a Fellowship of £9,000 and be entitled to call themselves a ‘Petrofac Royal Academy of Engineering Fellow’. The work of the Fellows will be exhibited in the Academy in London at the end of their Masters’ course, through a poster display of their major project work.

What does it cover? Those fortunate to be selected will be awarded a fellowship of £9,000 and be entitled to call themselves a ‘Petrofac Royal Academy of Engineering Fellow’.
