Catalan Institute of Nanotechnology is funding PhD studentship in supra molecular nano Chemistry and materials group in Spain. PhD position is available for minimum three years to start in April – July, 2013 which covers gross salary, flexible compensation plan, life insurance and also provides immigration documents assistance. Applicants must have a master’s degree in chemistry or nanotechnology, materials science degree. The deadline for applications is 30/06/2013.

Scholarship Description: We seek a candidate to be employed as a PhD student for the experimental development of a research project based on the development of Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs). The Thesis will be focused on synthesizing novel bulk and nanoscale MOFs and on developing novel methodologies to control their spatial organization (self-assembly) to generate high-level MOF-based superstructures with myriad applications, such as drug-delivery systems and gas adsorption. In an excellent basic and applied research environment, the candidate will acquire a great experience in organic, inorganic and supramolecular synthesis, nanotechnology, and biology as well as in working with a wide range of optical and electronic microscopies, basic spectroscopies, biological techniques, etc. The Thesis will be highly interdisciplinary, involving areas ranging from Nanotechnology, Chemistry to Biology and Medicine.
