Postdoctoral Fellowship: Model Reduction Method for Metal Forming Processes at CEMEF, France

Centre for Material FormingCentre for Material Forming (CEMEF) is offering postdoctoral fellowship in model reduction method for metal forming processes at CEMEF. The duration of fellowship is 18 months which covers gross salary offered by CEMEF. Applicants must have thesis in Computational Mechanics or in Applied Mathematics. Application should be send by email.

Study Subject(s): The fellowship is provided to study in Model Reduction Method for Metal Forming Processes at CEMEF in France.
Course Level: This fellowship is for pursuing postdoctoral level.
Scholarship Provider: Centre for Material Forming (CEMEF)
Scholarship can be taken at: MINES ParisTech – CEMEF, Sophia Antipolis (06), France and Paris, France

Eligibility: Thesis in Computational Mechanics or in Applied Mathematics with proper notions of Mechanics.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Students of France are eligible for this postdoctoral fellowship.

Scholarship Description: The Centre for Material Forming (CEMEF) is one of the research laboratories of MINES ParisTech (top executive French engineering school). CEMEF studies the materials processing’s in all their aspects: physics, chemical physics, thermal and mechanical analysis and numerical modeling. Researchers are on a large range of materials: metals, synthetic and bio polymers, food stuff, composites and nano composites, glass, ceramics. The objective of this work is to apply the hyper reduction methods to metal forming and stamping problems, by successively taking into account the following difficulties: (a) mixed velocity and pressure stabilized formulation, (b) non-linear constitutive equations, (c) unilateral contact treatment by a penalty method and (d) large mesh deformation. Starting from simple traction and compression problems, the more complex deformations of deep drawing will be then tackled. This work will be carried out within the FORGE software marketed by Transvalor, and in the context of parallel computing for the two steps of the method.
