SMU Aboriginal Community Engagement Awards for Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Canada

Simon Fraser University is offering Aboriginal Community Engagement Awards for full-time undergraduate and graduate Aboriginal students. The value of award is $2,500 and the maximum annual value of the award is $5,000. Undergraduate students must have completed at least 24 units at the University in order to be eligible to apply. Students having good academic standing can apply. Applicants should also have demonstrated excellence in one or more of: service to the University, community service, cultural contribution and overcoming personal or systemic barriers. Application deadline is May 17, 2013.

Scholarship Description: The SFU Aboriginal Community Engagement Award, valued at $2,500, is available to SFU Aboriginal graduate students. Students must have a living connection to their own aboriginal community, be in good academic standing, and also have demonstrated excellence in one or more of: service to the University, community service, cultural contribution or overcoming personal or systemic barriers. Documentation supporting the students community connection, service and volunteer activities shall be submitted to Financial Aid and Awards. The Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee will make the award.
