Each year, the Ministry of Education, Singapore offers Hong Kong scholarships for students who wish to enter Singapore schools at Pre-University 1 level. The students will get annual allowance of S$2,400 with hostel accommodation, settling-in allowance of S$500, return economy class air passage, coverage of school fees, GCE O-Level and A-Level examination fees and subsidized medical benefits and accident insurance cover. The application deadline is 16th June 2013.

Eligibility: Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the awards:
-Hong Kong Permanent Residents
-Senior Secondary 2 students between 16+ to 18+ years old at the time of admission into Pre-University 1 level in Singapore schools the following year
-Good academic track record.
Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Hong Kong can apply for the scholarships.
Scholarship Description: The Hong Kong Pre-University Scholarships is tenable for studies in selected Singapore schools from Pre-University One to Two, leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced GCE A-Level (or equivalent) certificate. The Scholarship is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar. Students from Hong Kong who wish to enter Singapore schools at Pre-University 1 level under the Hong Kong scholarships are welcome to apply for the Pre-University Scholarships. Candidates who are not short-listed for the scholarships will be considered for the Merit Awards.
What does it cover?
-Annual allowance of S$2,400 with hostel accommodation
-Settling-in allowance of S$500 (once only)
-Return economy class air passage
-Coverage of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)
-Coverage of GCE O-Level and A-Level examination fees (once only, if applicable)
-Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover.
Notification: Candidates short-listed for the selection test/interview will be notified a week before the selection test / interview dates (August / September 2013).
How to Apply: The application forms are available from the Hong Kong Scholarships website . Each applicant should submit only one application form. Students who have applied for Hong Kong Scholarships in previous years or are already studying in Singapore need not apply as they will not be considered for the scholarships. The completed form, together with the relevant supporting documents is to be submitted by post.
