ESRC and Care & Repair Cymru Fully-Funded PhD Studentship at Swansea University in UK

Swansea UniversitySwansea University is offering fully-funded PhD Studentship for a research project entitled Mapping the Care & Repair Agency Case Worker role – social care and policy impact at the community level. Applicants must have a 1st or good 2:1 degree in Social Policy or a related Social Science discipline and must hold a relevant master’s degree. This full studentship will include stipend of approximately £13,726 p.a. for a maximum of 3 years subject to satisfactory progress  as well as approximately £750 to cover additional research expenses throughout the study. The application deadline is 30th May 2013.

Scholarship Description:  The studentship provides an innovative opportunity to undertake a collaborative research project which brings together partners from Swansea University, Care & Repair Cymru and their national-level network of agencies, and the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Centre.  The focus of the project is of importance to all partners, who recognise the central role that agency case workers play in facilitating independent living for older people through person-centred, home-based service provisions, and acting as “link agents” in stimulating effective partnership working across different sectors and services in Wales.

What does it cover? The full studentship will include:

-EU studentsEU students who have been ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the grant are eligible for a full award (stipend and fees). This means they must have been normally residing in the UK (apart from temporary or occasional absences). EU students who are ordinarily resident in a member state of the EU are generally eligible for a fees-only award.
