Wesfarmers Women in Engineering Scholarships at Curtin University in Australia

Curtin University of TechnologyCurtin University, Australia offers Engineering Scholarships for women. These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate degree level in the field of chemical,mechanical and electrical power engineering. Student must be commencing their third or fourth year in an eligible undergraduate degree. The students of Australia can apply for these scholarships.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria to be eligible for the Wesfarmers Women in Engineering Scholarship:

-is female

-Student must be enrolled full time (1oo credits) in an elligible undergraduate degree

-Student must be commencing their third or fourth year (fourth or fifth if studying a double degree) in an eligibile undergraduate degree

-Student must be an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

-Have a minimum CWA of 65

-Be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported place at Curtin University

-Be willing to attend professional functions and forums run by WesCEF throughout the duration of their course, subject to their reasonable availability.


Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Australia can apply for these scholarships.


Scholarship Description:  Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF) operates chemical, gas and fertiliser businesses that service a range of sectors in both the domestic and international markets. We have operations around Australia and employ around 1,400 people nationally. The WesCEF ‘Women in Engineering’ Scholarship is available to female engineering students in their third or fourth year of full time study (fourth or fifth if studying a double degree), majoring inChemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University.

Duration of award(s): Each scholarship will provide the following financial support (based on full time enrolment for a maximum of 2 years).


What does it cover? Each scholarship will provide the following financial support (based on full time enrolment for a maximum of 2 years):

-A stipend of $3,000 per semester ($6,000 per annum).

-The stipend may be used at the recipient’s discretion to contribute towards payment of their course fees, or for other education-related expenses such as text books and/or general living expenses.

-Scholarship recipients may have the opportunity to complete vacation work at WesCEF and enrol in the WesCEF Graduate Engineering Program.


Selection Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded if there is a candidate of sufficient merit. Applications will be assessed by a selection panel using the following criteria:

-Responses to questions in application

-Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend a formal interview.


Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via the official communication channel via Oasis within 4-6 weeks of the closing date.


How to Apply: An applicant must submit a completed application form with supporting documents attached by 4:00 pm on the scholarship closing date, to the Scholarships Office at the Bentley campus. For a list of all documentation required for an application please see the documentation requirements checklist at the back of the application form.
