Government of Nova Scotia is funding University Entrance Scholarship in Canada. The students of Canadian Citizen (African Nova Scotian Black Student) can apply for this scholarship. Students must have enrolled as a full-time student in a recognized degree (undergraduate) program for 2013 immediately following Grade 12. Selection criteria are students must have an average of 75% or higher in fifth Grade 12, leadership qualities, and recommended by the high school principal. Students are eligible to apply for one scholarship award every year, for the duration of maximum of three consecutive years, depending on the Scholarship. Send your application online.

-Available to African Nova Scotian (Black) students who have successfully completed Grade 12 in the Nova Scotia school system within the current year.
-Who have been accepted into, and will attend university in the academic year immediately following Grade 12. In Addition, applicants must:
-Have obtained an average of 75% or higher in five Grade 12 academic courses including the compulsory course of English 12 and any four others from the Nova Scotia school system (note that Approved Local Courses (ALC) will not be used in this calculation). *However exceptions to this include Advanced Placement Credits, IB Credits and Advanced Courses.
-Have demonstrated leadership qualities through participation in community affairs, student activities or athletics be recommended by the high school principal or guidance counselor
Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: The students of Canadian Citizen (African Nova Scotian Black Student) can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: Individual who has just graduated from high school and is enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program within the current year at a post-secondary institution.
Number of awards offered: Not Known
Duration of award(s): Students may apply for a scholarship/award each year, for a total of three consecutive years immediately following high school completion depending on program enrolled in. Please note that the University Entrance Scholarship in the amount of $4,500 is available for the first year only. However, applicants who have received the University Entrance Scholarship their first year, may apply the following two years for the Post-Secondary Award. Students must successfully complete the first year of a program to be eligible for the second and third year award which is based on satisfactory academic standing. Students must submit an application each year to be considered for any scholarship/award.
